Telephony
Long before the idea of computer data networks was even imagined, phone systems have been the preferred way to carry on live communication to do business. Voice carries subtle information that cannot be conveyed in an email such as tone of voice. Also, since most of us can speak much faster than we type, voice systems enable us to quickly and easily convey information and respond to it.
SunTel Services has extensive experience designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining phone systems. We can also train your employees on how to get the most from their new phone system. With over 4,000 systems installed, we know telephone systems and telecommunications networks. From small, simple key systems to complex, networked systems with call center solutions; we have “been there” and “done it” successfully for more than 20 years.
IP Telephony (a.k.a. VOIP)
In the late 1990’s, technology was developed to transmit voice over the same networks providing data connectivity to simplify the number of networks and connections required. The age of Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) began. The technology has matured, and IP Telephony is now the standard for implementing new enterprise voice functionality – now known as IP Telephony.
IP Telephony can reduce installation costs since it operates on a converged network infrastructure that utilizes a single cable drop for both voice and data.
Furthermore, IP telephony systems include employee productivity tools that integrate with user computers at the desktop empowering employees to quickly access directories, dial from their computer contacts or presence-based applications, as well as many other feature-rich capabilities, now known as
Unified Communications
.
It is little wonder that more IP Telephony / Voice over IP systems are sold today than traditional digital phone systems.
